My name is Taryn Wiseman and I am all about travel that is easy, as stress-free as possible, and okay a bit lazy to be honest. I love scenic drives, short hikes considered easy (maybe that’s actually called walks), bike rides on the flattest surfaces, views of beautiful landscapes and wildlife, and learning about the history and culture of the places I visit. I’ve lived in New Orleans for over 20 years, which is a unique destination in itself. The name Laissez Lady Travels was inspired by a phrase in Louisiana French often embraced by the people of New Orleans, “Laissez les bon temps rouler!”--“Let the good times roll!” Since my way of travel is a bit lazy, I was also influenced by the way the parading krewe named the Laissez Boyz uses “Laissez”--as they ride in Mardi Gras parades on motorized easy chairs!

 

I grew up as a child of a parent in the U.S. military and moved around frequently, which contributed to my passion for exploring new locales. I was especially excited to live overseas in Germany and England since I had been fascinated by European history. As a young girl, it was absolutely magical getting to tour medieval villages, castles and cathedrals.

As a long-term resident of New Orleans, you may see some recommendations for things to do here in the “Big Easy.” From its delicious food & cocktails to its rich history & celebrations such as Mardi Gras, the people of this city know how to enjoy life. I’d love to share some of the joie de vivre we experience here with you.
